GOTHS ONLY

Support

Last updated: 20 September 2026

Goths Only is a dating app for the goth subculture. This page covers how to get help, how to deal with someone behaving badly, and how to leave.

Goths Only is run by one person, not a support department. Safety reports are read and acted on within 24 hours. Everything else usually gets a reply within a couple of days, and always within a week.

Reporting someone

Every profile can be reported, from the deck and from a conversation. The control is at the bottom of the card, below everything they have written — which is where you already are when you decide you have seen enough.

  1. Open their profile, either from the deck or by tapping their name at the top of a conversation.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Report or block.
  3. Choose the reason that fits. If you are not sure, pick the closest one and write what happened in the box.

Reports go straight to a person, not a queue nobody reads. "They might be under 18" is the first option in the list, on purpose. Accounts we determine belong to minors are deleted, not warned.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. We can remove an account from the app. We cannot send help to an address.

Blocking someone

You can block from the same Report or block control on any profile. You do not need a reason, and reporting someone blocks them automatically — you never have to do both.

Once you block someone: they disappear from your deck and you from theirs, neither of you can see the other's profile, neither of you can message the other, and any match between you drops off both of your lists. They are not told.

Changed your mind? The You tab has a Blocked section listing everyone you have blocked, with an unblock button beside each name. Unblocking puts them back in your deck and brings back the conversation if you had matched before. Neither of you is told, either way.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app. Nobody needs to approve it and you do not need to email anyone.

  1. Go to the You tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete my account and confirm.

This removes your profile, your photos, your messages, your matches and your swipes. It is immediate and it cannot be undone — there is no grace period in which we keep your data hoping you come back.

One thing survives deletion, deliberately: if someone reported you, that report stays. Otherwise deleting and re-registering would be a way to wipe a record of harassment. The report keeps what was reported and when, not your profile.

Common problems

No confirmation email after signing up

Check spam — confirmation mail from a new domain often lands there. If it is not there after ten minutes, email hello@gothsonly.app from the address you signed up with and we will confirm the account by hand.

The deck says there is nobody to see

Usually one of three things: you have already been through everyone nearby, nobody new has joined within your distance yet, or your profile is set to be seen by a narrow group. The app tells you which one it is rather than showing an empty screen. Widening your distance or what you are looking for is the usual fix.

We are also new and small. Early on, an empty deck sometimes just means an empty deck.

Photos will not upload

Check the app has permission to reach your photo library, in your phone's Settings under Goths Only. Very large images can also fail on a weak connection — try again on wifi.

Messages are not arriving

Messages appear without refreshing when the connection is healthy. If a conversation looks stuck, close the app fully and reopen it. If it keeps happening, tell us which conversation and roughly when.

Locked out of your account

Use the password reset on the sign-in screen. If the email never arrives, write to hello@gothsonly.app from that address.

You were suspended and think it was wrong

The screen you see gives the reason. If you disagree, reply to it at hello@gothsonly.app and say why. Suspensions are reversible and we do reverse them. Deletions are not.

Your data

What we collect and why, who else can see it, and how long it is kept, are all in the Privacy Policy. Requests for a copy of your data, or corrections, go to privacy@gothsonly.app.
